But I scored 52 million, and the ships only go to 75k, couldn't do much with it.

No it's just when you wait and let the enemies spawn (they are very slow what makes it even more easier) and then you kill em, you can get a combo of 2913 :p

but seriously, awesome game!

But are there any differences between the characters other than the looks?
And it gets rather repetitive.

I'll just copy and paste what I told scoopeman below...

The characters are basically just different "looks". They are also a way to play the game with one character one way and using another one to play the game a different way without having to lose any character's saved data. I would have loved to make the characters different from each other like their attack moves and stuff, but it would have meant months of more work, and I simply don't have the time for that.

Nice story line, nice music, nice controls.
But I hate the wallhugging to find the mushrooms and the switches.
It reminds me of Guild Wars to get the cartographer title^^.
